What is moisture-resistant (H) board?
Placa H (BA13 H under EN 520) is a plasterboard whose gypsum core incorporates siloxane and paraffin additives that repel water. You will find it under brand names Placo Pregyhidro (Saint-Gobain), Knauf Diamant H, Pladur WA and Lafarge Rigimpact. Identified by its green colour (standard boards are grey, F fire boards pink).
The difference from the standard board is decisive: while standard BA13 absorbs more than 30% of its weight in water after 2 hours of immersion, type H1 board absorbs less than 5%. This resistance makes it essential for bathroom and kitchen renovations and any space with relative humidity between 70 and 85%.

Its water absorption is below 5% after 2 hours of immersion (vs 30% for standard board), making it ideal for bathrooms and kitchens. But it requires a protective finish: tiles, Class 3 anti-damp paint or vinyl cladding.
Yes, provided the bathroom has adequate ventilation (natural or extractor fan) and Class 3 or higher anti-damp paint is applied.
